Rosary Miracle at a Job Interview

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ON THE POWER OF THE ROSARY
by Nelson Das

I come from a strong protestant (Lutheran) background, and due to this, I was somewhat skeptical about saying the rosary and had a hard time believing the many miracles claimed by some good Catholics or getting Mother Mary to intercede over prayers.

My skepticism remained for a good number of years until one Sunday listening to a sermon by an old priest which helped change my thinking. The gist of the sermon was Jesus, as an obedient son, listening to his mother, as demonstrated in the biblical narration of the ‘Wedding in Cana’ even though his hour has not come. This sermon somewhat impacted my past way of thinking and made me look from a different dimension.

A couple of weeks later, I have to travel to Canada for a short fact finding mission and at the same time, attend a pre-arranged interview for a job, before deciding to take a major step to immigrate with my family. I arrived in the chill hour of Sunday morning in this vast land with not a soul to look up. I checked into a hotel and after catching up with a couple of hours sleep, I decided to take a stroll and soon came upon a beautiful cathedral. The service hours shown on the board indicated that I was half an hour early before the evening mass. I decided to stay for this mass and went into the building and was greeted by a young priest. We got into talking and soon find myself opening up to him and told the reason for my visit. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful metal rosary and told me to keep in my pocket and hold on to it during the interview. In addition he also gave me a small prayer leaflet.

The next day I got myself a cab and went to the company to attend the pre arranged interview. I was led to a room on arrival and was met by the President of the company and the head of human resources. I sat down and in doing so remembered the priest’s words and held on to the rosary while the interview being conducted. The entire session went on pleasantly and to my amazement whatever I asked for was granted with very little resistance or objection. And what was more surprising during all this time, none of the interviewers asked me to show proof of my qualification or asked to see any of the testimonials I took with me. I was offered the job with a grace period for commencement per my request.

Since that encounter my believe system has dramatically changed. I still carry the little prayer leaflet in my brief case and always in possession of two rosaries, one in my pocket and one in the compartment of my car.
